Vortex Ministry Launches!

What would this Christmas season look like if massive numbers of people gave up just ONE Christmas present and decided instead to give a gift to someone more in need? This is the idea of GiveUpOne. Will you accept the challenge? Just GiveUpOne. Non-Profits, post a comment about your organization and tell us how we can help. Post a comment about how you have accepted the challenge to GiveUpOne.

Oh Baby, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet

There are now 11 days before Christmas and the GiveUpOne Campaign is starting to get some good traction. We're starting to see incoming links from other sites that are helping to promote this idea. We’re also starting to hear back on some awesome stories. Thank you so much for your support!

Christmas 2007 is just a launching point.

Everything great always started out as something small. We're already seeing ways and talking with people about continuing GiveUpOne past Christmas and into 2008. There are so many things that we can do with this idea. There are so many people that we can touch with this idea.

Come on, let’s do this together. GiveUpOne this Christmas, but begin to think about how you can apply this to your life in 2008 and beyond. Stay tuned for more.

Let’s keep it going! Make sure to tell everyone you know! Thanks

I know this is pretty last minute, but if anyone out there is still looking for ways to use their GiveUpOne money, I have a great deal for ya.

I just looked at WorldVision's site, and found two great opportunities. If you give a Holiday Care Gift (Nutrient-packed foods, Warm clothes and sturdy boots, Hygiene items, Dolls, books, and toys) they will match the money you give 8 times. If you gave $100, it'd be like you gave $800!!

If you give to the Clothing for Children program it gets even better. They will match your funds to give kids warm clothing this winter 14 times. Again, if you gave $100 it'd be like you gave $1,400!!!

Wow. What a deal. I'd recommend considering it at least. You can find these two programs by going to the WorldVision site (http://www.worldvision.org/). In the navigation along the top look for Ways to Give. When you roll over it you'll see a long list including Meet Basic Needs. That's what you want. If you clicked on Ways to Give, when the next page loads, look for Basic Needs along the top. The two programs I mentioned will show up as the two couple items!

Hey Mark, that is some great info. I just made a donation to the Clothing for Children fund and it will get matched by 14 times the amount as you said!

I guess WV has lots of corporate sponsors that are matching gifts. That's an incredible matching program.

There are several gifts on the World Vision site that are doing this matching idea.

Make sure to check it out! Here's the link to the Clothing for Children program.

The World Vision site says that they have received donations of more than $53 million in new clothes and shoes from generous American clothing manufacturers. They are now raising additional funds to ship and distribute these items to the children who need them most.
